Hinoki Wood Sake Cups, Set of 2, 2 oz, Made in Japan

Originally, the masu was a square wooden box used for measuring rice in Japan. Today, masu are primarily used for drinking sake.

Our set of two small, authentic Japanese masu wooden sake cups can each hold 2 ounces of sake. These cups are made from hinoki wood, which is Japanese cypress, ensuring they are leak-proof.

The overall dimensions of each cup are 2-7/16 inches square and 1-13/16 inches in height. The inside dimensions measure 1-13/16 inches square with a depth of 1-1/2 inches, providing the perfect capacity for 2 ounces of sake.

Wooden sake boxes are ideal for serving chilled sake, and they come with a saucer to catch any drips. You can also serve sake in a glass cup placed inside the wooden masu. Fill the glass cup until the sake overflows into the wooden box, creating a traditional Japanese sake serving experience.

To maintain the quality of your wooden sake cups, it is recommended to wash them only with running water, without the use of dish soap. Avoid exposing the cups to hot water or placing them in a dishwasher.
